Does anxiety leave you feeling overwhelmed and constantly on guard?

  • You have difficulty relaxing

  • A sense of dread and fear hangs over you all the time

  • You feel on the verge of panic, and struggle to sleep at night

  • Your body feels like a revved engine

  • Your palms are sweaty. Your heart is pounding

  • You worry about what others are thinking of you

Each area of life is impacted by anxiety: work, school, relationships, emotional, physical, and mental health.

You may struggle in relationships either staying on guard or feeling like you cannot be alone. You may struggle focusing at work or your anxiety may lead you to work long hours and not have balance in life.

Anxiety and stress impact your body through increased blood pressure, heart rate, muscle tension, pain, and digestive issues which can lead to health concerns.  It also leaves you feeling worn out and exhausted.

In some cases, anxiety can be brought on by life circumstances. Events such as ending a relationship, starting a new job, or moving can make you feel nervous or stressed.

Other times, anxiety is chronic. Feelings of nervousness, fear, or dread persist despite changes in your circumstances. In these cases, you may be plagued by persistent worry, anxious feelings that come on suddenly and powerfully, or live with a constant, gnawing anxiety that never goes away.

Counseling for anxiety can help you experience freedom

How we can help

Feelings of anxiety do not have to define you & they do not have to hold you captive!

It is possible to experience peace and joy in your relationships, to feel relaxed in your body, to no longer feel constantly on guard, and begin to navigate life from a place of being grounded and calm.

Reducing anxiety can also mean an increase in confidence, energy, and joy as you live in the present moment, experience healthy relationships, and feel secure in who you are created to be!

At Wellspring Therapy Associates, our counselors provide a caring, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment to talk about your experiences.

When you arrive for your first appointment, you will enter a safe space where you can explore your feelings and a therapist will work with you to create a plan for you to achieve your goals.  Many of our clients find that having this support makes an immediate impact towards reducing stress and anxiety.

Our counselors will use clinically proven treatments to give you the tools you need to better cope with your anxiety and heal the core wounds or beliefs that are increasing your level of anxiety. We will educate you about how the nervous system works and what might be causing your anxiety. We will empower you, with techniques and coping skills, so that you will be in control of your anxiety, not the other way around.

We are confident that a better life is possible for you!

Here are some of the ways our clients experience healing in therapy:

  • Each of our clients may experience anxiety differently. But whether your anxiety is manifesting itself in sleeplessness, panic attacks, or something else, we can help. We can educate and empower you so that you can manage the symptoms of anxiety.

  • It might be hard to remember the last time you felt truly calm or at peace. A therapist will work with you to find techniques and coping skills that will help to bring about that peace.

  • Our brains are wonderful creations, but sometimes they get us into trouble as well. Without even realizing it, we can sometimes slip into ways of thinking that are unhelpful, irrational, or even destructive. A counselor can help you identify these patterns, challenge your thoughts, and help you think in healthier and more constructive ways.

  • Sometimes anxiety itself is a symptom of deeper issues. If you have experienced a painful or traumatic event in your past, this could be causing anxiety and other symptoms today. Our therapists can provide a safe space for you to experience healing from past traumas.

Through counseling for anxiety, you will...

  • Create balance in life

  • Set boundaries around your time, energy, relationships

  • Navigate the responsibilities of life from a grounded and calm place

  • Reduce stressors that increase anxiety

  • Shift ineffective thinking patterns

  • Feel empowered to live according to your values

Healing and freedom is possible.

You are worth investing in!

Frequently asked questions about anxiety counseling

  • Stress is something that each of us experiences at various points throughout life. Stress is typically a short-term emotional response to an identified situation or trigger. Once the object of stress is resolved, the stress is released and someone can feel calm again. There is some overlap between the symptoms of stress and anxiety. However, anxiety is typically more long-term. It can be a person’s felt reaction to stress. The feelings of anxiety may linger and there may not be an identified cause. Anxiety is an internal experience that can be difficult to shift.

  • Counseling for anxiety is greatly beneficial. You will learn your brain and body’s signals, understand what the anxiety is trying to communicate to you, identify thought patterns that are unhelpful and learn how to change them, and create a toolbox of ways to reduce anxiety in the moment. You will also determine the source of the anxiety so that you can heal from it and experience a reduction in symptoms. You will then be free to live a life consistent with your goals, values, and priorities.

  • The length of time for anxiety counseling depends on the type of anxiety present (whether it is social anxiety, generalized anxiety, specific phobias, anxiety stemming from trauma, etc.) and the specific goals you are seeking to accomplish during counseling. Together with your therapist, you will identify the source of your anxiety, what you desire to gain from therapy, and work toward an agreed upon plan.

    • Specific Phobias
